Audrey Blessman

Audrey Blessman joined the Culver Academies’ Fine Arts department in 2004. She attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago for two years concentrating in painting and drawing. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1996. She was Rotary Scholar in France (1992-1993) and studied at Universitat Bielefeld, Germany (1996). She earned her Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Chicago in 2001 in Painting and Critical Theory. Prior to arriving at Culver Academies, Ms. Blessman worked at Conserve School in Wisconsin. There she developed the visual art curriculum prior to the school’s opening and taught visual art and AP Art History for the first three years of the school’s existence. 

Ms. Blessman teaches Art History, Beginning Drawing, Portrait and Figure Drawing, Beginning Sculpture, and Beginning and Advanced Painting. Outside of her academic responsibilities at Culver, Ms. Blessman is an assistant Quiz bowl coach and a freshmen class sponsor. She lives close to campus with her husband, Phil Blessman, a teacher in the science department, and their twins, Ben and Sophie, born in 2006.
