Meet The Faculty
Cathy Duke
Department ChairCathy Duke joined the Culver Academies’ Fine Arts Department in 1977. She is a Master Instructor and holds the Bays Chair of Fine Arts. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 from Indiana University. She worked towards a Masters in Science from Indiana University in 1982 and 1983. She is also a Culver graduate of 1970. Her areas of teaching include Dance Workshop levels, Dance for Athletes, Dance History, and Body Studies. She is the coordinator for the dance program and the chair of the Fine Arts department. Prior to arriving at Culver, Mrs. Duke taught dance and drama at the Bishop’s Schools in LaJolla, California. Mrs. Duke spent three years in Columbus, Ohio from 1987-1990, where she taught at Otterbein College and free lanced in the city.
Mrs. Duke started the performing group, Dancevision, in 1977. Her extracurricular activities include instructing, mentoring and choreographing for her performing dancers and advising seniors for their Honors in Dance projects.
Cathy and her husband, Vincent, have one son, Ashton.
