Crisp Visual Arts Center
Culver is giving visual arts students the space to explore their chosen media and the best tools to achieve a level of technical mastery to match their artistic ambitions in the Rosemary Berkel Crisp and Harry L. Crisp II ’53 Visual Arts Center.
This visual arts center, which will occupy the former Eppley Hall of Science, is named for the Crisp family of Marion, Illinois, and will be the home of Culver’s student painters, sculptors, photographers, and ceramic artists. For the first time in Culver’s history, we will have an entire building devoted to these activities. The renovation will include the addition of newer technologies and safety features such as digital photography, a state-of-the-art kiln room as well as studio space for Culver’s artist-instructors to show that they are as passionate about continuing to learn about their chosen disciplines as they are about teaching them. And, for the first time, Culver will have dedicated spaces for two-and-three-dimensional arts as well as vastly expanded gallery space.
