Meet The Faculty
Nancy McKinnis
Nancy McKinnis joined the Culver Academies’ in 1980 as a Culver Girls Academy Counselor and Fine Arts Instructor. She currently teaches in the Leadership Department and directs Culver Girls Academies Leadership Training Program. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana and a Master of Science degree from The University of Bridgeport. Her areas of study and teaching interest include ethics, character development, positive psychology, leadership, service learning and art. She currently teaches the junior level ethics course and Servant Leadership Practium course. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. McKinnis sponsors Culver Girls Academy’s Leadership Committee for Africa, a student run organization that models collaborative leadership and provides hands on experiences for students in fundraising, event planning, research and service learning experiences in Africa. Ms McKinnis is a co-leader for the mission trip to South Africa and chaperoned Culver mission trips to poverty stricken areas of Florida and Mexico. She has presented Culver’s leadership models at the Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and Christel House International Schools. Ms. McKinnis resides in Culver with her husband, Scot, and three children.
