The Culver Academies' Academic Advising office is a resource for all students, to help not only in course selection and appropriate course placement, but also in making the most of their time at Culver in preparation for college. It is the mission of the staff to ensure that every student has a successful and fulfilling experience. Whether a student is looking for help in registering for classes or needs to find a tutor, the staff is equipped to assist with any issue.
The Academic Advising office is also a resource for the dorm and unit counselors because of the integral role these individuals play in counseling the students. Great care is taken to insure that students are challenged with their curriculum without being overwhelmed. The Academic Advising team works diligently to see each student succeed to the best of his or her abilities.
Here at Culver, we have an incredible team of Academic Advisors who take time to walk with your student through the academic advising process. The advisor’s role is to plan curriculum for their Culver career. Each advisor guides students to select the most challenging long-term course load in which they will still be successful. Student’s interests and passions are carefully considered as well as the need to meet Culver’s graduation requirements.
Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor in September. The advisor will begin to meet with students in early November to discuss course selection for next school year. Course Registration is completed online during a specific window of time in late January through February. All students are required to finalize their course requests with their Academic Advisor by the February 20th deadline.
The Academic Advising Office uses the student’s course requests to build the Master Schedule. As such, schedule changes are not allowed after the last day of classes.
