All new international students should arrive in Culver on Sunday, August 15, 2010 for the new international student orientation.  The following events and activities are tentatively planned for the orientation:

• New student registration
• Getting to know the campus
• Meet important faculty and staff on campus
• Getting to know each other
• Checking in with families back home
• Athletic practices for students playing a Fall sport
• Immigration issues
• Finances and banking
• A Day in the Life of a Culver Student
• The culture of the classroom
• Understanding Culver's curriculum
• Introduction to CMA and CGA
• Understanding the Honor Council and how to avoid plagiarism
• Orientation to Global Studies Institute
• College Advising
• Placement testing for English, math and science classes as necessary
• Orientation to laptop computers and Culver network
• Shopping trip
• Culture trip
• Films and discussions
• Town treasure hunt
• Purchase books
• Athletics and recreation
• Dance or evening out

Please, note that athletes for fall sports also return on August 15 and practices will start on Monday August 16, so any new international students who want to try out for a fall sport will be able to and still participate in the international student orientation. We encourage our international students to become involved in sports.  It is a great way to keep busy and get to know other students quickly.
