Kathy Lintner first joined the Culver Academies in 1973, teaching in the English department for three years before returning to graduate school. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Ball State University, a master’s degree in English from the University of Notre Dame, and completed nearly all of her doctoral work in English from Notre Dame. She taught for eight years in the Knox Community School Corporation and returned to Culver in 1988 as a Senior Instructor in English. In 1993 she was appointed as Dean of Faculty, and after completing a two year certification program, was also named as Principal. Her primary job responsibilities center on the management of faculty personnel issues, faculty evaluation, professional development, faculty hiring and Academy housing.

In addition to her duties as Dean of Faculty, Dean Lintner continues to teach a senior Humanities elective, Myth and Literature. She also chairs the Duchossois Family Scholars Committee. Her husband Fred retired from the Academies in 1999 as the Director of Development. Their two sons graduated from Culver, Steven in 1976 and Patrick in 1978. Two grandchildren have also graduated from Culver, Christopher in 1997 and Elizabeth in 2002.
